What is a Robot?

A robot is system that

  • Perceives: Extracting critical information from sensory data

  • Decides: Uses sensory data, values, and current state, to make decisions that enable action

  • Acts: Manipulates the world or changes the environment

  • Collectively uses Perception, Decision and Action to achieve a goal of value to the robot

Thus robots are things that autonomously manipulate the world around us.

At Iguana, we are often presented with difficult problems. Problems that have resisted conventional engineering methods.

Our stength is that we study how humans and animals perceive, decide and act. We determine the strategies and principles used by these systems.

We reduce these strategies and principles to algorithms and physical implementation, with the purpose of providing a solution to difficult problems.

Often, these solutions are more cost effective, use less power and are more compact than conventional methods.

If you are a corporation or government entity, we can assist you in cracking the "hard nuts" in robotizing products.

If you are a University, Iguana often collaborates with Universities in research work within our area of competencies.

If you are a local school or museum, Iguana occasionally gives talks and workshops on robotics in order to inspire children and improve the image of scientists and engineers.
